Meet the team behind our Migrant and Refugee Organising work

Meet the team behind our Migrant and Refugee Organising work

At Citizens UK, we’re building a powerful movement to welcome refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers. Our Migrant and Refugee Organising work is made possible with the dedication and leadership of our community leaders and organisers.

Millions of people in the UK are suffering at the hands of unjust immigration policies that deny them dignity, security, and the chance to flourish. At Citizens UK, we believe this can and must change. Through grassroots organising, partnerships, and advocacy, we’re creating a country where everyone, regardless of immigration status, can live fulfilling lives in their communities.

We've already won change such as reducing child Citizenship fees, securing Free School Meals for children with families on No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) status, reunited thousands of children with their families and pioneered the community sponsorship scheme, supporting communities to welcome refugees from all over the world to find safety in the UK.

Most recently, we launched our new report, From Rooted to Recognised, Unblocking the Pathway to Citizenship, and cross-party Citizenship Network in Parliament, as part of our campaign to make the pathway to UK citizenship more timely, affordable and fair.

Behind these victories and campaigns, and alongside the powerful community leaders we work with, is our Migrant and Refugee Organising team. With lived experience and strategic expertise, the team represents ten nationalities and speaks eight languages, bringing communities together through the universal language of action.
