BAME leaders unite to launch the 'Race Equality Justice Council Nottingham'

On Monday 22 February, several of our Nottingham members joined forces with BAME leaders from across Nottingham to publicly launch the 'Race Equality Justice Council Nottingham' (REJCN), a new independent organisation to tackle racial inequality in the city.

This is an important and much needed initiative for Nottingham, building on years of campaigning to challenge structural and institutional racism. In 2018, the Nottingham Citizens Still No Place for Hate report called for the establishment of such an organisation. Now is the moment to make this call a reality.

You can read a full briefing paper for the REJCN HERE which details ways in which organisations and individuals can show their support for the REJCN. One specific way the REJCN steering group are asking for support is for organisations to sign their Open Letter by Monday 15th March.
